Russia's exports to China. In March 2017, will run a new container train to China from Russian Federation. As explained by the representative of the Russian export centre in China Sergey Lebedev, the new cargo route will start from the Russian Vorsino in the Kaluga region.
The project is organized with the participation of the Russian export centre of the government of Kaluga region, OJSC Russian Railways, company TransContainer and the largest state-owned logistics Corporation of China "Sinotrans". In the future, the train plying between China and Russia will include not only transportation of containers and other cargo. However, the first stage involves working with container loads.
"We hope that the Chinese partners are interested in this route and will meet in the matter of tariffs. There are certain prospects with regard to subsidies provided by the Chinese side in the framework of the project New silk Road" - said Mr. Lebedev.
It is planned to form two points of origin of traffic – at the starting point of the route and when crossing the border with China, possibly in Chita Zabaikalsk or because there is sufficient number of interested manufacturers. Currently, the organizers of the route to discuss the possibility of reducing tariffs for the transportation of JSC "Russian Railways" and the Chinese logistics operator.
